Alistair Melville

Al Melville is a singer/songwriter and composer based near the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire, UK. Since I was very young I fell in love with the sound of the piano but I never got round to having formal lessons and I am quite glad because most of my music comes through listening to the sounds of the chords on the piano and then coming up with a unique and catchy melody that supports those chords. Most of my music tends to be very melodic and I must admit I love the sound of beautiful melodies played either on the piano or with a full orchestra. Fortunately, I have my own home based recording studio and most of my inspiration comes from walking and being in nature. I was a great Billy Joel fan in my younger days, and I still love sitting at the piano and composing original songs with vocals or just beautiful instrumentals. I have worked with some great artists over the years including Terry Oldfield (Flute) and Peter Orr (Guitar) both of whom live in Queensland, Australia. Recently I have started composing orchestral based music which I love and this is taking my music in a totally new direction but I always come back to the solo piano which is my main instrument. I recently also made the decision to remove all my music from Spotify as I was very unhappy with the way artists were treated there and have now teamed up with Jeeni as their business model totally supports the artist first.
