Eric Whitacre's The Seal Lullaby, was originally created for a Disney work called The White Seal, written by Kipling. The film was never made (Kung Fu Panda instead!), so the track never used. My original idea was for it to be played on 19 valved brass instruments but it ended up as the following: Piccolo trumpet, Eb Trumpet, 4 Bb trumpets, Flugelhorn, Tenor Horn, Baritone, 2 Euphoniums, 2 Tubas. Most of which were doubled. I think thats 13 parts in all, so close!
