Profiiit - Aliyah's Prayer
Aliyah's Prayer is a laid-back and charming interlude after the powerful and impactful opening track 'Betty Boo' for his latest album, 'Alexander' (released 28/02/22). The track doesn't feature Profiiit's rapping, but instead features his indulgent and inspired talent for pacing and planning out the tempo of an album.Profiiit is a groundbreaking and restless force in the East Coast US underground rap scene. His style cannot be simply defined in terms of genres due to his insatiable need to constantly move and push his sound to new levels, however influences include J. Cole, Kanye West, Pusha T, Kendrick Lamar and the late XXXTENTACION. Something Profiiit has in common with all of these inspirations is a long endeavour for greatness.
Flamingods - Marigold
Marigold from Flamingods fourth studio album ‘Levitation’ on Moshi Moshi Records: http://smarturl.it/LevitationDirected by Barbu.TV, Marigold was shot on a trip to Oman which involved hazardous border crossings, Omani motorbike riders and the band creating their own ornate jackets. Shooting the video in and around the remote city of Nizwa you’re taken on a vibrant journey, featuring innovative camerawork and hypnotic animation. “We had heard about this gang of motorbike riding youths through our friend and knew immediately that we wanted to make a music video with them. They live in a remote city in Oman called Nizwa and have had these vintage bikes passed down from generation to generation. African Chant - Garrett Jones
All of these takes were done with me holding the microphone like a dynamic junk stage mic... it was late and I didn't think I'd make a whole project but decided to go for it. Definitely rough, a good bit of reverb and effects added on the tracks to beef up the sound, but absolutely no pitch correction at all.
