Encouraging and empowering young people across the south coast.The Movement Initiative have successfully won various dance competitions around Europe and are now World Champions in the International Dance Organisation. The charity is run by Gareth Smith who set up the school to keep children off the streets and make sure they have access to opportunities for dance classes as well as great health benefits. Cairde is a group of male Irish dancers who have recently become known for their tiktok videos where they actively post their modern version of Irish dancing to trending music. The group of 7 began posting their content on TikTok during the pandemic in August 2020 and their account has grown to 2.3 million followers with 32.1 million likes. Since this time, Cairde have performed on multiple TV shows including The Late Late Show, Good Morning America and the UK’s This Morning as well as being projected on the big screens in Times Square in New York! The team have recently started their own tutorial series called ‘How To Irish Dance’ on YouTube where they teach you the foundations of the style, break down the basics and help you to grow as an Irish dancer.
