XVIV - Original Music For Brass by Hugh Davies
My original idea was for it to be played on 19 valved brass instruments but it ended up as the following: Piccolo trumpet, Eb Trumpet, 4 Bb trumpets, Flugelhorn, Tenor Horn, Baritone, 2 Euphoniums, 2 Tubas. Most of which were doubled. I think thats 13 parts in all, so close! Window Washer (Part 1), Mumbai/Dubai-based singer Noush Like Sploosh – we’re not sure where that name came from, but we’re sure it’s a great story – one of the most interesting artists knocking around any shore. She seems most happy wrapping her wry, playful lyrics (she’s a storyteller as much as a musician) in jangly guitar melodies and perky rhythms.
