This was originally made for a competition from @Neural DSP but since I moved to another house I couldn't really find the time to finish it before the deadline.But hey... today I felt like revisiting it and this was the result. This song always felt to me like a love note to someone. Words that have waited too long to come out and you just can't wait any longer. I used this concept of writing that love note to inspire the visuals for this track!

According to the band, “Chemical Sleep is a look at the effects of addiction, through the eyes of a friend. While the song itself never refers to any particular vices, it can be applied to any and all ways in which we harm ourselves or seek escape. The song explores the attitude and personality changes we have seen in people close to us, from the excuses and lies we make to hide our habits, to the way we push others away when they try to help us.”
