The Woodhouse Prize Band, based in Sheffield, was founded in 1853, and is one of the oldest surviving brass bands in the country in continuous existence. My original idea was for it to be played on 19 valved brass instruments but it ended up as the following: Piccolo trumpet, Eb Trumpet, 4 Bb trumpets, Flugelhorn, Tenor Horn, Baritone, 2 Euphoniums, 2 Tubas. Most of which were doubled. I think thats 13 parts in all, so close!
