Dylan Pilgrim - IDO Junior Hip Hop World Champion 2018

Dylan Pilgrim is an 18-year-old Hip Hop dancer and choreographer at The Movement Initiative dance company from Portsmouth. He has competed internationally and achieved World Championship and European Championship titles for his talent. From 2017 to 2019 he achieved roughly nine 1st place titles.   Dylan has become World Champion for Junior Male Hip Hop solos 2 years in a row and 1 European championship title in solos as well. He is also world champion in 2 different teams from The Movement Initiative – YDC back in 2017 and 2018 and currently DCC are reigning Champions from 2019. In 2019, Dylan was asked to travel to Slovakia to teach at 2 different summer camps for a week. The ages of groups he was asked to teach ranged from young kids to teenagers to adults and he taught many different styles. Because of all his achievements, he is well respected and well recognised in the dance industry as he should be!

Original folk/acoustic song called Kelly Welly by The Day of the Rabblement. This song was recorded live at the Wine Vaults, Southsea and is available on their debut album 'Night Time Rallies' . This song includes instruments like guitars (of all kinds), a tambourine and a violin to give it a traditional folk inspired style, as well as Khaleda's beautiful vocals. The band doesn't make their music in this particular style anymore as they have developed and evolved to fit the more recent times.

This song was created back when the group made music of the folk and acoustic style which they have developed from now but this song is still so great! The five-piece band is made up of talented and creative musicians and singers especially their female lead singer - Khaleda Brophy-Harmer. Each member of the Portsmouth based band play their own instruments on all of the songs which typically is a form of guitar .

Having developed from an acoustic and more traditional set-up, they have grown in sound and reputation and enjoyed success on the Portsmouth music scene. They are always developing and keeping up with the current times. As a band, they had been on a baby-break just before the pandemic hit. Emerging from lock-down they had been gearing-up to give the band a new lease of life and looking at how to push ourselves.
