Francessca was born in the UK and has trained in London, New York and LA. She has been teaching hip hop for over 8 years in all three areas and is really passionate about helping people to expand their knowledge in dance and become the best dancer they can be. Her strongest styles of dance are Hip Hop and House which are her go-to styles to choreograph and teach. Francessca has experience in the foundations of Hip Hop and thinks that it is important to pass that experience onto new dancers.She frequently posts on her Instagram short clips of her dancing and rehearsing as well as concept videos of herself and her friends. Over her years of being a dancer, she has achieved choreographing for various music videos, a commercial for Bell outside the Box, battling in Vancouver Street Dance Festival and choreographing pieces for Vancouver International Dance Festival and Main Event.

The raw power and energy of Jalikunda's djembe drumming riveted the attention and delighted the crowd that attended the 1st African Music Festival on the tiny Island of Montserrat in the Caribbean. The festival, held in Salem Cricket ground, on popular request, Jalikunda returned and wowed the crowds in Montserrat again.

The Movement Initiative is a home to world champion hip hop teams – Young Dream Chasers and Dream Chasers Collective and are based in Southsea. Award winning Charitable company. The advancement of the art of dance through education, performance and provision of facilities. Encouraging and empowering young people across the south coast.The Movement Initiative have successfully won various dance competitions around Europe and are now World Champions in the International Dance Organisation. The charity is run by Gareth Smith who set up the school to keep children off the streets and make sure they have access to opportunities for dance classes as well as great health benefits. The Movement Initiative has been going for 12 years and its supported by roughly 100 parents.
Signature Contemporary at 'Celebrate' 2018
Signature are a contemporary group based in Portsmouth underneath the company - The Movement Initiative. It’s currently a group of girls 14 – 18 years old who are passionate and dedicated to the style and extremely talented! They are currently choreographed by an amazing dancer Lucy Atkins and assistant choreographer Freya Williams. Signature was created in 2015 and the group has continued to grow and advance! They have competed in only a handful of competitions since forming but each time have come out successful and even on top! Signature have performed and The Movement Initiative’s annual show ‘Celebrate’ 3 times in 2015, 2016 and 2017 as well as competing at Platform Dance Festival with a team dance, multiple solos, duos and small group routines too. Some of the girls go and compete alone in competitions such as PDA championships too. Due to the lockdown, the group have recently started up again but have been spending their training time choreographing routines and catching up with lost time together. The team are always looking to invite new members to join so make sure to check them out.
