Prelude/Thriving
This is the introduction and 1st track off of my album 'The Longer Now' which was released in June 2024. It began as a reworking of one of my old pieces called 'Longmarsh'. I had been asked by the incredible tabla maestro, Pandit Sanju Sahai to perform with him and an ensemble of other wonderful musicians at the opening concert of the Thrive Festival 2023 in the Great Hall at Dartington, an absolute honour, and an experience that I will never ever forget. Sanju Ji asked me to bring one of my pieces, which is how 'Thriving' came about. It became the opening piece for the concert that we played together. This is my solo reworking of this piece.
