XVIV - Original Music For Brass by Hugh Davies
My original idea was for it to be played on 19 valved brass instruments but it ended up as the following: Piccolo trumpet, Eb Trumpet, 4 Bb trumpets, Flugelhorn, Tenor Horn, Baritone, 2 Euphoniums, 2 Tubas. Most of which were doubled. I think thats 13 parts in all, so close! One of my tunes. Kind of a mystic folk rock in a style I think inspired by 1970s folkish Laurel Canyon type stuff. Trying to push that feel into a spiritual direction. Doing the song on my nylon string acoustic, which is basically a classical guitar but with a dreadnought style body.
