Flamingods - Marigold
Marigold from Flamingods fourth studio album ‘Levitation’ on Moshi Moshi Records: http://smarturl.it/LevitationDirected by Barbu.TV, Marigold was shot on a trip to Oman which involved hazardous border crossings, Omani motorbike riders and the band creating their own ornate jackets. Shooting the video in and around the remote city of Nizwa you’re taken on a vibrant journey, featuring innovative camerawork and hypnotic animation. “We had heard about this gang of motorbike riding youths through our friend and knew immediately that we wanted to make a music video with them. They live in a remote city in Oman called Nizwa and have had these vintage bikes passed down from generation to generation. I think the motion of them riding the bikes melded with the motorik groove of the song perfectly and the sun-soaked environment was just what we needed to capture the song’s themes"Directed and Produced by Barbu TVPre-Production and Drone Photography by Ali Al Sharji Animation by Satwa 3000Special thanks to: Faris Zakwani, Klay, Dino and Muayad Al Harthy Shot in Oman, 2018 in Nizwa, Jabal Akdhar, Birkat Al Mouz, Barka, Muttrah, Ruqi, Wadi Al Kabeer (Muscat Skate Park), Qurom and Ruwi
A Very Spectrum Christmas, by Thomas A. Christie. (Part 1) Introduction.
Excerpts from A Very Spectrum Christmas, by Thomas A. Christie. (Part 1) Introduction. Throughout the 1980s, thousands of British children were lucky enough to discover a Sinclair ZX Spectrum under their Christmas trees and soon found their eyes opened to a virtual world of wonder. But Santa Claus did more than deliver computers — sometimes he appeared on them, too. This book delves into the Spectrum’s extraordinary pantheon of seasonal games: the good, the bad, the surprising, the unabashedly surreal and the occasionally rather tenuous. This title is available as a physical book from www.extremispublishing.com and all good online retailers and independent booksellers worldwide.
