XVIV - Original Music For Brass by Hugh Davies
My original idea was for it to be played on 19 valved brass instruments but it ended up as the following: Piccolo trumpet, Eb Trumpet, 4 Bb trumpets, Flugelhorn, Tenor Horn, Baritone, 2 Euphoniums, 2 Tubas. Most of which were doubled. I think thats 13 parts in all, so close! They call their style 'Hunnu Rock' inspired by the Hunnu, an ancient Mongolian empire, known as The Huns in western culture. Some of the band's lyrics include old Mongolian war cries and poetry.
