Meet My Ancestors is Championing Zimbabwean Arts: Performance and Workshop Established in 2020. A theatrical production and album telling stories from Zimbabwean culture. Through ancient mbira music fused with contemporary sounds. The multidisciplinary performance piece aims to challenge the concept of UK mainstream theatre. Additionally, exploring the imposition of western music structures on music from cultures around the globe. They will be performing at the Global Bandstand Weekender 2021. Also, they will be performing at Victorious Festival 2021. Where you can see them perform and host a drum workshop - Presented by The People's Lounge.

Meet My Ancestors is composed and arranged by London-based actor, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist John Falsetto. John is set to star as Mr Snow in Carousel at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre this summer. And has composed music for theatre, including the award-winning The Jungle by Good Chance Theatre and Ben Johnson’s Volpone for Tangle Theatre Company. Since announcing Meet My Mancestors, the project has received funding from the Genesis Foundation. The Mbira music endeavour features one of Zimbabwe's artists of the moment in Probeatz. Although only establishing in 2020 the group are already making a name for themselves performing and running workshops. Including residency at Battersea Arts Centre and Hawkwood CFT.

Jeeni is going to Victorious Festival!

Victorious Festival is the UK’s biggest metropolitan festival and is set to return to Southsea Seafront this August Bank holiday weekend (27th-29th August). With an excellent line-up including Madness, The Streets, Royal Blood, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and many more. At the event we will be busy spreading the word with our key messages, informing people of our most recent success in our latest Crowdcube round, how we managed to acheive "Mover and Shaker Status", raising nearly 70% of our £150k target in a week. Over the weekend we will be interviewing various artists and explaining why supporting a cause like Jeeni is so important, and if you have not already heard: Jeeni is the number one ethical alternative to streaming platforms like YouTube and Spotify. We allow artists and performers to keep 100% of everything they earn through our platform. No Adverts, No Fakes. The Majestic at The Queens Hotel Southsea

COMPETITION TIME WIN FREE ACCESS FOR A GROUP OF 6 The Queens Hotel Southsea Sunday 13th June 2021. The Majestic is a Roots Rock Reggae band hailing from London. Taking some of the liveliest parts of reggae, from an eclectic set of influences, and with a diversity of origin comes an infectious blend of British and Jamaican music. Formed in the early 1980s by band leader Baba Ras, with its initial success leading to a tour supporting Misty in Roots, and culminating in the Stonehenge Festival of ‘83 alongside Hawkwind. The band then went on hiatus until 2011, when they returned to the UK scene for a second time, racking up an impressive three hundred-plus shows in their first three years. Bit by bit, a gradual change in line up culminated in the six-piece performing today. With a traditional riddim section mixed with rocky guitar leads and saxophone hooks, the Majestic promise a wild spectacle. Whilst a regular at Boomtown and Falmouth Reggae Festival, the band are a familiar face on the wider UK festival circuit, and is intimate with venues such as Brixton’s Hootananny, Brixton Jamm and The Fox And Firkin, frequently playing reggae hotbeds in London and beyond. Currently, the final touches on the band’s second album, Roots and Reality, are being made, being released for summer 2020. The Majestic can now usually be found touring the length and breadth of the UK and further, sharing its own diverse brand of reggae and bringing party vibes everywhere they go. COUNTDOWN IS ON 6 DAYS LEFT TO INVEST

It seems like a long time ago that Jeeni announced that they had reached their funding target in 6 days and were aiming to overfund. Jeeni, the social music platform that brings artists closer to their fans and shares revenue ethically, has successfully raised over £340K on Crowdcube across three rounds. With 350million streamed music subscribers and market growth up by 39% this year, Jeeni is likely to ride the wave and be a huge success, not only with unsigned musicians and performers but with their superfans. “We set a target to raise £100,000 for 2.4% with a pre-market valuation of £4M,” says Jeeni founder Shena Mitchell. “And while we have the support of several major investors, the beauty of Crowdcube is that artists themselves can actually own a stake in the company for as little as £10.” Shena continues, “Jeeni’s mission is to support unsigned music and performers, by helping them build a fanbase. We aim to fast-track careers in the music business, and make sure they take the lion’s share of the revenue that’s raised. Jeeni is needed more than ever in this Covid-19 New Normal, and we have proved that the demand is high. Currently we can only support 100,000 videos, so we must now move up a gear as we head for global roll-out.
