Signature Contemporary part 2 at 'Celebrate' 2018
Signature are a contemporary group based in Portsmouth underneath the company - The Movement Initiative. It’s currently a group of girls 14 – 18 years old who are passionate and dedicated to the style and extremely talented! They are currently choreographed by an amazing dancer Lucy Atkins and assistant choreographer Freya Williams. Signature was created in 2015 and the group has continued to grow and advance! They have competed in only a handful of competitions since forming but each time have come out successful and even on top! Signature have performed and The Movement Initiative’s annual show ‘Celebrate’ 3 times in 2015, 2016 and 2017 as well as competing at Platform Dance Festival with a team dance, multiple solos, duos and small group routines too. Some of the girls go and compete alone in competitions such as PDA championships too. Due to the lockdown, the group have recently started up again but have been spending their training time choreographing routines and catching up with lost time together. The team are always looking to invite new members to join so make sure to check them out.

Templar Animated - Beginner Class at Southsea
Templar Animated is a hip-hop dancer and break dancer as well as a freestyle teacher. He is based in Portsmouth, Southsea where he holds beginner freestyle sessions for adults over 18 years. He says that his freestyle classes help people to find the rhythm in the music as well as learn moves to create their own unique style. He also taught some online classes over the lockdown period at the start of 2021 which included styles such as popping, breaking, afro and even salsa! Templar has many friends who also dance and they create videos together to showcase their talent. The group locate around Southsea to film their content which can sometimes be choreography, freestyle or just grooving for fun. Before lockdown, he would often compete at battles or spectate and has said he learnt a lot from that experience. Templar took part in the recent Global Bandstand event in Portsmouth and took part in multiple classes where he found other dancers to hopefully collaborate with in the future.

Arleen Hurtado, flamenco dance - Lovesong
Arleen Hurtado grew up in Southern California, training in jazz, ballet and tap dance. In these years, she discovered Flamenco which is now her profession and she teaches classes, choreographs and performs in this style. For the past 18 years, Arleen has performed worldwide and toured throughout America showcasing her phenomenal talent. She has also toured and performed in United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Spain, Italy, Croatia, China and India. As well as the travelling, Arleen has featured in music videos, tv commercials and magazines. She is now based in Los Angeles where she teaches weekly flamenco classes and still performs and tours around America. Arleen Hurtado as she introduces the foundational movements and posture of flamenco dance in a fun and easy way. You’ll learn a flamenco song, how to count the rhythm, flamenco arm and hand styling, hip movements, basic footwork patterns and essential skirt styling and you’ll get a fun combo at the end to put everything together.

Incredible tap dancing - Sarah Reich
Sarah Reich is a professionally trained tap dancer, performer and choreographer. She started at age five to dance tap. When she was 12 years old, she danced salsa in clubs with her sister. Then she mixed the tap steps with the popular salsa and merenguesteps. She has competed on So You Think You Can Dance as a member of Chloe Arnold's Syncopated Ladies, they won the eleventh season's dance crew battle, and she performed in the eighth season with Jason Samuels Smith Tap Co. Sarah is best known as a featured artist for Postmodern Jukebox, touring the U.S. and Europe in both 2015 and 2016. On her Instagram, she posts regular tap class videos of herself and her successful career has led to a large following of 52,000 people! Sarah is developing new, and exciting works with her company Tap Music Productions, including her debut Tap Jazz Album titled New Change. She hopes this is just the beginning as she said "I want to be the first tap dancer to win a Grammy Award!".

The group of 7 began posting their content on TikTok during the pandemic in August 2020 and their account has grown to 2.3 million followers with 32.1 million likes. Since this time, Cairde have performed on multiple TV shows including The Late Late Show, Good Morning America and the UK’s This Morning as well as being projected on the big screens in Times Square in New York! The team have recently started their own tutorial series called ‘How To Irish Dance’ on YouTube where they teach you the foundations of the style, break down the basics and help you to grow as an Irish dancer.
