The song as we know it today (since the late fifties) has Fernandez's melody and chorus with lyrics by Jose Martì in the verses taken from the poem Versos Sencillos ("yo soy un hombre sincero", etc).

I used to write a lot when I was in middle school/high school. I haven't written a story for fun since I was maybe 16 or 17. I am a bit rusty, but with practice I'll be even better than I was before.Oh and I now have a mic cover for my mic now.
