About me
Multi-award nominated Australian singer-songwriter currently based in her father's native Scotland. Performing as Kissing The Flint (meaning 'to create a spark'), her 2019 debut 6-track EP 'Unconditionality' is available in CD and on digital platforms. Leah's second, alt rock/blues/pop-influenced album is planned for release late 2022 with the second single 'Dune Girl' released 5 August on all major digital platforms.

Kissing The Flint - 'Unconditionality' EP
After several years with cover bands, mentorship from established artists and more intensive concentration on her original songwriting, 6-tracks were written by Australian singer-songwriter Leah Chynoweth-Tidy and released in May 2019 as Kissing The Flint's debut EP 'Unconditionality'. With roots, Celtic, pop, reggae and rock influences, this EP is an engaging journey down the challenging life path of love, yearning, loss and despair - yet also always seeking hope and positivity.

Fare Thee Well Lament was written by Australian singer-songwriter Leah Chynoweth-Tidy aka Kissing The Flint and was nominated for Australian Celtic Song of the Year 2020. This beautiful track aches with Celtic imagery and explores a personally held belief that this life is not all we know and is certainly not the end. We are meant to meet those we love, again and again, somewhere and in some other time. There are also so many special places on Earth where the veil between worlds is gossamer thin.

I Won't Look Back is a honky tonk number written by Australian singer-songwriter Leah Chynoweth-Tidy aka Kissing The Flint. A song about a girl taking back control of her love life and telling her man she's walking down the road if he doesn't start to treat her right! Official Music video was funded through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) in Queensland, Australia - it was filmed by Wezzy Cruze and released in 2019 and can be enjoyed on Kissing The Flint's Youtube channel.

Unconditionality is a word that summarises a positive regard ethic - in everything we do in life, we should accept others for who they are and not seek to bend them - and we should be treated, unconditionally in everything, the same way too.
